Cash is very inconvenient to carry around. I personally use a card wallet instead of a big cash wallet because it's more convenient to put in my pocket. Sometimes cash, or paper money, rips apart, making it difficult to use. Additionally, using coins is not really convenient. I think that's why cards and other means of payment are used more often than cash nowadays.
