Your dopamine hormone. Our brain releases this hormone when we see something new to our eyes and brains. Whenever we see something novel, something that is unusual in our perspective, we become happier. I believe this also applies to shopping. Whenever we receive a new package that contains new items, it releases a bit of adrenaline and excitement to open the package. It brings people happiness, although it's just short-lived. I believe happiness should come from experiences, not just worldly possessions, but that's just me. For the majority of people, buying things and shopping makes them happy.
