I think people have mixed feelings. Some enjoy crowded places because they feel vibrant and full of life, especially younger people, but others feel uncomfortable or anxious when there are too many people around. I guess it depends on personality and tolerance for noise.
I think most people tolerate rather than genuinely enjoy crowds because they are usually a byproduct of convenience and popularity, not something people actively seek out. What I want to say is that people like the energy if there is a clear purpose, like a concert or a festival.
