How do cultural differences affect relationships?

I think that cultural differences are really important in our relationships. A language difference is a good example of this. My American friends and I usually speak English, but sometimes we also use Google Translate to communicate clearly. So, cultural differences involve not only linguistic comprehension but also understanding each other's cultural interests.
