The tables compare consumed potatoes per person in kilos and produced in million tonnes in five distinct parts of the world in 2006.
From an overall perspective, Europe ranked the first with potatoes consumption, while Africa was the least. However, with its production, Asia was a dominant, whereas South and Central America were on the bottom of the list.
In detail, eaten potatoes per person in kilos in five geographical sites were in varies degrees. Europe was on the top with 96.1 kg, while North America rank the second was 57.9 kg. Asia and South and Central America had almost identical numbers 25.8 and 23.6 kg, respectively. Meanwhile ranked next registering 14.1 kg.
Regarding the production of potatoes, Asia and Europe where is the major potato producers. By reaching 131.2 kg and 126.3 kg for the former and the letter ones, respectively. North America was the next which produced roughly 24.7 million tones potatoes in 2006. Africa and South and Central America harvested almost similar amount of this plant almost 16 million tonnes each.
