The given bar chart depicts the percentage of Vietnamese’ children of both gender male and female in six various entertainment activities in 2010.
Overall, boys were most generally attracted to physical activities, whereas girls likely preferred the indoor entertainments. In addition, females had generated the higher participation across most given sources of entertainment, except for going to the park and sports which were chosen more by boys.
Regarding the categories most frequently chosen by girls, the largest difference between the two groups was documented in Art and Craft, where the share of female participants stood at precisely 25%, compared with only around 7% for boys. Furthermore, reading books showed a noticeable contrast between two genders, with their respective proportion of 18% for girls and 10% for boys. In contrast, watching DVDs exhibited a more balanced distribution, with female participants being slightly higher than males, at around 18% and 15%, respectively.
Concerning remaining activities, the proportion of boys was exactly 15%, which was equal to that for the other in playing computer games. Moreover, the percentage of boys playing sports was approximately 28%, which was double that of girls. Similarly, there is also a gap between boys and girls in going to the park, at 25%, male choices outperformed females by 13 percentage points, whose figure stood at 12%.
