The bar chart illustrates the percentage of male, female and children’s consumption of fruits and vegetables per day between 2001 and 2008 in the UK.
Overall, it can be observed that women had more percentage of eating fruits and vegetables each year in contrast to other gender. Both the men and children began the year with lower percentage however by the end of the period it was steadily rise.
Female started at approximately 20% in the initial year. The following years saw a gradual increase, reaching a peak at 37% in 2006. However, in 2007 and 2008, there was a sharp decrease to 30%. Regarding the men’s consumption of fruits and vegetables, it began at nearly 18% and remained stable until 2004.
The figure of eating of fruits and vegetables peaked almost 25% in 2006 and remained the same at last years. The percentage of children recorded the lowest figure at more than 10% in the 2001. 2004 experienced a dramatic rise, reaching at nearly 25 percent but then it declined to 22% .
