The graphs show the average amount of time British men and women spend on leisure activities such as entertainment, reading and sport and as well as household activities namely cooking and washing, shopping, repairing and doing laundry and ironing. The measurements are shown in minutes.
Overall, men invest most of their time in entertainment except reading that is compared to women. Meanwhile, men do not involve actively in household activities except repairing as opposed to others done by women.
According to the table, men are likely to use up most of their free time on TV, video and radio and sport for nearly 137 minutes and 15 minutes respectively and these figures are a bit higher as against time women spend on these activities taking up 118 minutes and 11 minutes accordingly. However, there is no significant difference between two genders use on reading.
Regarding household activities, women are believed to spend nearly 80 minutes doing washing ups and cooking and 30 minutes doing the laundry and ironing which is almost three times as many minutes as men spend on respective categories hence the data shows only half an hour and 10 minutes each. Surprisingly, there is no considerable difference in time for shopping category for both men and women although the time women care for repair is halved as against men spend on it which is nearly 20 minutes.
