Overall, fast food choices differed noticeably between the two nations and are projected to remain distinct in the end of the period. McDonald’s and Burger King dominate the market in both countries, while KFC represents the smallest portion in Vietnam but is according to graph, expected to grow significantly in Indonesia.
In Vietnam, Burger King was the most preferred choice in 2017, accounting for more than half of the total market at 52.8%. McDonald’s was the second most popular option with 43.1%, while KFC made up a tiny result of just 4.1%. By 2027, McDonald’s is predicted to overtake Burger King to become the most popular chain, rising to 57.4%. In contrast, Burger King’s share is expected to decline sharply to 39%, while KFC will see a slight increase to 6.3%.
Turning to Indonesia, McDonald’s was clearly the favorite in 2017, taking up a substantial 60.8%. KFC started with 23.8%, and Burger King was the least popular at 15.4%. According to predictions for 2027 indicate that McDonald’s preference will decrease to 48.5%, athough it will still remain in first place. Meanwhile, KFC is projected to experience notable growth, reaching 39.2%, whereas Burger King’s popularity will drop slightly to 12.3%.
