Dear Jonh,
I hope you are doing well. I heard from your mother, Sara, that you’ve just graduated from university. Congratulation! She also asked me to give some advice to you. As someone who worked in Human resources for 20 years, I’m confident my knowledge will be useful.
First thing first, have you already decided what kind of industry and occupation you would like to do? It is of paramount importance to deciding it because it will be spending 8 hours a day 5 times a week doing it. Also, gaining a deep understanding of the industrial trends is a must. It will be helpful during the interview process since they might ask you a bit more technical side of questions. If you can show you are genuinely interested in the profession you are applying for, it will give an interviewer a great impression. And of course, don’t forget to prepare the reason why you would like to work for them. 99% of interviewers ask you this question.
Sara passed the message that you would like to meet up with me to discuss job hunting. How about this coming Wednesday at 9 am at Starbucks on Chapel St.? It might be good to do a mock interview with you so that I can give you more detailed advice.
Let me know the date works for you.
Take care,
Haruna
