Dear Chelsi,

I am writing to give my thanks. It is very kind of you to invite me to spend my holidays with you but unfortunately; I won’t be able to make it this time around due to my very hectic work schedule.

Let me explain my situation in more detail. I have recently started a new job as Civil Engineer and I have been working around the clock. I don’t mean to complain; I have been enjoying working at construction sites immensely. The company I am working with is actually part of government’s welfare initiatives. It’s really quite interesting to be part of community service projects will pursuing my career goals.

Can you please let me know of another time you will be free? I will love to visit you to see your new house and meet your partner. I will be take my annual leave in December this year. It would be great if we could go on a two-week cruise trip together and before coming back I can stay at your place for one week. It would certainly be great to catch up after a long time.

Please let me know of your availability during this time. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
