Dear John,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for inviting me at your residence for one week’s Christmas vacation unfortunately, I will have to politely refuse it.
I received your invitation letter last week to stay at your home for one week . You have always known that I really had fun stayed at your home while growing up. Furthermore, your parents are also a great company. I appreciate you for inviting me for it so, we can spend quality time togeather.
However, due to some unscheduled plans, my visitation will have to be canceled. This week we are planning a trip to New York city with my family. Lately, I have been very hectic with my work environment and assignments, as a result, I could not spend any quality time with my family. Therefore, we are planning a small family trip this week and, I am afraid I will not be able to come to your residence.
I would suggest that we could get together at some other time. I think I am going to be available in June and it is your summer vacation as well. Therefore, It could be a great time to visit you. Let me know what date works for you so, I can book my tickets accordingly.
I will be waiting for your prompt response and in the meantime, please take care.
Your friend,
Jay
