The line graph indicates the average amount of time to produce cars of four companies namely General Motor, Ford, Toyota and Honda.
Overall, it can be seen that all the manufacturers experienced a downward trend in the production time, with the General Motor’s decline being the most dramatic. Additionally, Honda predominated with the lowest manufacturing time in most of the years.
In 1998, General Motor took approximately 32 hours on average to produce a car, which was the highest data among 4 companies at that time. Over the next 7 years, the figure underwent a continuous decline, concluding with 24 hours in 2005. Meanwhile, Ford’s production time surpassed General Motor’s in 2000, which then increased slightly to nearly 32 hours in 2001 before experiencing a significant decrease by 10 hours at the end of the period.
Regarding Toyota and Honda, these brands shared relatively similar figures in 1998, at approximately 22 hours. Both of them then witness significant fluctuations in the following years. However, from 2002 onwards, they declined slightly and achieved 20 hours in the last year.
