Overall, access to all the types of modern technology increased dramatically throughout the period, even though they became available in different years.
At the outset, the figure for CD player accounted for just over 40 percent before increasing steadily to 80 percent between 2001 and 2002. Then, this figure continued to grow, reaching approximately 90 percent before ending the period with a drop to 85 percent. In 1997 the percentage of mobile phone was just below 20 percent, and it increased to around 25 percent by 1999 before climbing sharply to just over 40 percent. After that, this figure grow steadily until 2001, and then rose dramatically to just below 80 percent between 2005 and 2006, finishing the period with stability at this point.
Furthermore, the share of internet connection accounted for roughly 10 percent in 1999. Following that, this proportion increased significantly to approximately 35 percent in 2001, and experienced a steady upward trend, reaching just over 60 percent in 2008. In 2003, the share of DVD player made up roughly 30 percent prior to increasing dramatically to 80 percent, and ended the period with steady growth to just below 90 percent.
