The diagram illustrates the process to make biofuel called ethanol.
Overall, there are different stages included, from harvesting, manufacturing, until distribution to produce ethanol.
The process is started with the harvesting. The growing plants that receive the amount of sufficient energy from sunlight and carbon dioxide will be cut off as they are mature. Then, the logs will be transported to the machinery system to undergo the pre-processing stage. During this process, a material called cellulose is added before entering the next stage of processing.
During the processing, the solution of cellulose is run under the chemical process. This stage will create a form of sugar. If the processed sugar is mixed with microbes, this can produce biofuel, called ethanol. Furthermore, ethanol will be distributed and utilized by various transportations, such as cars, trucks, and airplanes. Later on, the usage of ethanol by those vehicles will emit the carbon dioxide, and this gas will return back to nature and absorbed by plants.
