The two charts give information about proportion of films shown at the cinema, according to their origin, in UK and Australia, in 2001, and how many people attended cinema in UK and Australia from 1975 to 2005.
In general, according to bar chart the highest shares at the market belonged to US films both in UK and Australia. Overall trend for cinema admission graph would be that the figures fluctuated more or less from 1975 to 2005, but an upward tendency can be observed in both countries from around 1992 to 2000.
Chart A is divided into following categories: US films, UK films, Australian films and others. UK is leading in almost every category accept „others”. The most watched were US films. 76% of US films were screened in the UK and 67% in Australia, in 2001. The most significant difference between two countries can be noticed in viewing figures of UK films. What is interesting to note is that only a small fraction of Australians were watching Australian productions in 2001, compared to UK numbers which were considerably higher (slightly above 10%).
It is clear that the that higher proportion of people attended UK cinemas than Australians. In 1975, 100 million of admissions were sold in UK and only 30 million in Australia. Both numbers plunge around 1985, but it was more sharply dip for the UK. Then the UK figures grow substantially with the small fluctuations along the way, until around 2003 and reached above 170 milion admissions. Australian cinema entrance had steady rise, except from approximately 1987 to 1992, when the numbers stayed quite similar.
