The bar chart and pie charts illustrate the percentages of people in Glasgow having three levels of education (university, school, and those with non-qualifications) in 2010. Information is divided into five age groups in the bar chart, as well as by gender in the pie charts.
Overall, it is noticeable that the majority of people with university educations were in the younger age groups, while in the oldest age group, most people did not have any qualifications. Moreover, the proportions of men and women were similar and showed little difference in the levels of education.
In more detail, the highest percentage of people with no qualifications stood at 72% in the oldest age group, whereas this figure amounted to 9% among the younger population in 2010. On the contrary, in 2010, those aged between 16 and 35–50 years represented the lowest proportion of non-degreed people at 9%.
Additionally, the younger demographic boasted an average of 65% for school and university certifications. However, the figure for individuals in the 75+ age group comprised 25% in 2010.
By contrast, females surpassed males in completing educational programs by 3%, accounting for 38%. However, males had a slightly higher rate of university graduation compared to females, also by 3%, with a figure of 32% in 2010. Notably, the number of school-certified individuals was equal among both genders at 33%.
