The map provides information about improvements of Chorleywood, a rural area neighbouring London with constant increases of residents, at four periods of time from 1868 to 1994.
at 1868, there was just a small residential area at the center near to main roads, but as a result of building railway and motorway, more people coming to the village and residential areas developed near them.
We can see that at the beginning of period until 1883, there was just a small village with two main roads from south east of village to north and also north east to western part of area. But from 1883 to 1922 village had grown in size to the south, where station of Chorleywood was situated and established railway at 1909 was going through it.
Afterward, at the period of 1922 to 1970 we have witnessed some developments and growth in size of village at the right hand side of railway. At 1970 there was another improvement in transportation infrastructure by building motorway laying down from north to the south of area. Apparently after that, more people inhabited near the motorway and at 1994 we can see that there is also park and Gulf course in the town.
