The illustration presents the progressive rise of population and the development of Chorleywood village near London from 1968 until 1994. It can be observed that the area becomes more populated and more developed starting in 1970.
From 1968 to 1883, only a small portion of the village was occupied by residents, found in the center of the map, which is accessible to the main road. From the year 1883 to 1922, its population gradually increased by about two-third s and expanded in the southern part of the area. Then, fro m 1922 until 1970, more areas were occupied in the southwestern part. By the year 1970, a motorway was built, giving access to more land in the northeastern down to the southeastern part of the region, and the population further r ose until 1994. Railways were created in the year 1909, which gave access across the village from east to west or vice versa. The Chorleywood station was in the southwestern part of the village.
The main road is located in the western portion of the village from south to north, then the re is an intersection of the main road in the northern part from west to east. While in the northeastern part, there is an intersection between the main road and th e motorway. Down to the southeast is another intersection of the motorway and th e railway. From southeast to southw est, the railway continues and meets the main road.
