The map illustrates the coal mining site before and after reconstruction.
Overall, throughout the period, the layout was completely reorganized, particularly in the eastern areas of the map, where the medical room and lorry park were replaced. Notably, the area that was initially the working mine became much more attractive for visitors over time. Additionally, a footpath was added; the entrance for the underground mine for workers was changed to one for visitors.
Initially, the staff changing room, adjacent to the office, was subsequently replaced by the museum after redevelopment, whereas the souvenir shop and cafe were built in place of the medical room for workers and the lorry park. Also, as time passed, instead of the waste tips in the East and the digger driving track at the top, a children’s play area was added at the bottom right corner, along with a picnic area for visitors to the site.
Moreover, the car park remained unchanged over time, while a footpath was added after the redevelopment of the mining site.
