The layouts are illustrate the coal mining site before and after the redevelopment.
Overall, the working mine gave its way to a more tourist oriented one, with more facilities and goods being provided. In addition, eastern side of the mine being totally innovated.
As for the western side of the working mine, it went under a major transformation, with the museum replacing the Office and staff Changing room in the north-western side of the working mine. However in the south-western part of the working mine, car park remained unchanged.
Central and eastern sides of the working mine, in the meantime, were mixed. Only the Entrance for underground mine for workers was renamed as Entrance for underground for visitors, while Medical park, Larry park, Waste tip 1 and half of the Waste tip 2 being added together and becoming the main part of the new Visitors’ attraction. Subsequently, Medical room was replaced by Cafe in the central side of the new Visitors’ attraction, while Larry park became a Souvenir shop in the south. Additionally, footpath was added. Moreover, Waste tip 1 and half of the Waste tip 2 in the Noth-eastern side of the Workers mine was completely transformed, with the former changing into the Digger driving track, whereas the latter became a large Picnic area. The remaining south-eastern part of the Visitors’ attraction was reintroduced as a Children’s play area.
