The two maps illustrate the area of Kingsley in 1950 and in recent years.
Overall, compeared to 1950, Kingsley has changed significantly and become more developed. Several new facilities, such as a school, a supermarket, and a car park were added. Meanwhile, a residential area expanded and a forested area has replaced by a new residential area.
In 1950, a river, which flowed from west to east, and a bridge at the center of the river divided the area into four quadrants. In the southeastern quadrant located a local shop. On the opposite side of the river placed the farmland whith some trees and four barns. The forested area was located in northwest of the map. In the southwestern quadrant was the residential area with 6 houses.
Over the half century, Kingsley’s population has increased. Regarding to this, the residentail area has expanded. In the southwestern residential area, six houses have replaced by 30 new modern houses. Meanwhile, the forested area in the northwest of the map has removed, and 20 new houses have built in this area.At the same period, shop has replace by a new big school with a playground for local students. However, shop has become supermarket with a big parking area and placed to the northeastern quadrant instead of the farmland.
