The maps illustrate layout of a coal mining site before and after reconstruction.
Overall, the mining site was reconstructed to a museum with different entertainment areas for kids and families. Notably, all the features were redeveloped except for car park.
As for working mine, on the north-western part of the site there was office in one building with a staff changing room on the south of it and car park was beneath them on the very south of western part. In the middle part there were no facilites installed together, with entrance for underground mine for workers being on the north, and medical room was on the south of that entrance, and there was another parking lot for lorries. Moreover, on the eastern part there was 2 waste tips with trees next to each other.
Turning to Visitors’ attraction, the office and changing room were reconstructed into museum with car park remaining unchanged, while entrance to a mining site for workers was replaced to become the entrance for visitors. On the south-eastern part the waste tip 2 was redeveloped into children’s play area, whereas other remaining parts of the site were enclosed by footpath, with cafe replacing the medical room and lorry park being removed to install souvenir shop. Furthermore, in the middle of eastern part opened a new picnic area with on the north of it digger driving track was installed in the place of waste tip 1.
