The given maps describe the layout of Townsville Sports Centre and its surroundings in 1995 and 2015.

Overall, the centre underwent significant redevelopment in 2015. Earlier it stood as a simple structure with basic facilities, but in 2015 the centre expanded to accommodate more amenities.

In 1995 the entrance led to a reception, which then led to a corridor of the left side of which was a swimming pool with attached changing rooms, and the right side was a restaurant. Further ahead on the right side stood a gym. The changing room had two entrances, one opening inside the pool area and one towards the corridor. There was a dedicated football pitch outside, at the eastern end of the plot.

In 2015, the centre had been remodelled by changing its entrance to the southside, and replacing the restaurant with a smaller reception area and a cafe. Two changing rooms, including one for the disabled, now stood where the reception had been earlier. The centre had also introduced a shower area and a sauna at both sides of the swimming pool respectively. The building itself had undergone expansion, taking over the football pitch and giving room for a larger gym along with a sports hall.
