The maps show a sport facility and its enviroment in 1995 and the changes that appeared in 2015.
Overall, as can be seen numerous buildings and rooms were built and replaced, some also got demolished.
In 1995, Townsville’s sport centre had two different facilities, such as football pitch and main facility. In main facility there were only 5 rooms as reception, restaurant, swimming pool, gym, and changing rooms. Initially, reception was on west side of the building, so the enterance was on the west side of the facility too. On the southtern face of the building there were a restaurant and gym. Next, on the north side of the sport centre there were the swimming pool and changing room. Finally, at the east side of building there was a football pitch.
In 2015, Townsville’s sport facility experienced a dramatic change. Firstly, the reception room was relocated to the southern side of the building, and took most of the restaurant’s territories. Gym passed through a massive expansion of it’s lands, while football pitch was connected to the main construction, and changing rooms occupied half of the past reception room. In addition, numerous new rooms were developed, such as showers, sauna, sports hall, cafe, and disabled changing rooms. Showers was built between swimming pool and disabled changing rooms. Sauna took a place between sports hall and swimming pool. Sports hall was constructed on the territories of the past football pitch. Cafe was built near reception and disabled changing rooms. Disabled changing rooms was built on the past receptions place.
