Overall, the most noticeable trend is the dramatic fall in burglary crimes over the period. The number of car theft crimes fluctuated in an upward trend in 10 years; while there was no change in robbery crimes between 2003 and 2012.
Starting with just about 3.500 in 2003, the number of burglary crimes reached a peak of approximately 3800 after 1 year. Then, there was a significant fall in this figure with just over 1.000 in the next 4 years. But this number increased slightly in 2009 and remained unchanged at about 1.500 in 2012.
Although car theft at the beginning is the second highest case with 2300, after 2006 it became the most commonly committed crime by the people in Manchester and steadily rose ending just below 2300. On the other hand, the robbery case in the city shows mild changes in 9-years period with just under 1000, which is the lowest.
