The line graph illustrates the number of books read by visitors, divided in men and women, at Burnaby Public Library between 2011 and 2014.
Overall, it is noticeable that the number of books read by both genders exhibited significant growth throughout the period. Books were initially read by more men than women. However, the figure of men declined over the final year, whereas women surged significantly, overtaking men.
In 2011, approximately 5000 books were read by men at that library. The number exhibited a moderate rise to 8000 books in 2012, and continued to climb, doubling from its initial number in 2013. However, the number of books read by male visitors declined considerably to 8000 by 2014.
Conversely, the number of books read by women visitors accounted for 3000 in the initial year. After rising slightly to just 4000 books in 2012, it increased dramatically, surpassing books read by men at 10000 in 2013, and further, peaking at 14000 books by the end of the period.
