The pie charts illustrate the major energy sources (oil,natural gas, coal, hydroelectric power, nuclear power) in the USA for the years 1980 and 1990.

Overall, oil and natural gas accounted for the largest share of renewable resources in 1980. However, supllies in 1990 remained relatively stable expect the percentage of charcoal surpassed natural gas by 2%, while the share of oil experienced a sharp decline of 11%.Whereas hydroelectric power and nuclear power stayed stable in 1980, but nuclear power increased by 5%.

In comparison, the percentage of oil in 1980 was occupied by 42%, although in 1990 it declined and fell to 33%. After that, natural gas which dropped by only 1% in 1990, was the second primary resource in the graph.

Nevertheless, the third coal amounted for 22% in 1980, and slightl increased by 5% in 1990. In turn, nuclear and hydroelectric power both represented 5%, though only nuclear power boosted by 5%.
