Overall, it is obvious that while computer games accounted for the largest share for boys, dancing was the most popular activity among girls. Another striking point is that the percentages for listening to music were identical for both genders.
In detail, regarding boys’ activities, computer games constituted 34% of the total, which was followed by basketball, at 26%. The proportion of soccer made up 17%, whereas the percentages of skateboarding and listening to music were almost the same, 11% and 10%, respectively. Reading had by far the smallest share among others, stood at 2%.
Conversely, in terms of girls’ activities, dancing had the largest proportion(27%), which was 6% higher than reading. The shares for computer games and netball were at comparable levels, 16% and 15%, respectively. Listening to music, which represented the lowest percentage at 10%, was 1% lower than gymnastics(11%).
