Overall, it is quite evident that the production of petroleum is significantly higher than both coal and natural gas.While the production of natural gas has seen a rise across the years, coal production has declined over time.

On one hand, the amount of petrolium produced in the year 1981 was about 90 million tonnes which increased to to 140 million in 1984 and plateud till 1987. After that, it slowly dropped to about 100 million in 1988 before slowly rising to 140 million again in 1995 and maintaining the same level of production for the coming years.

On the other hand, The production of Coal was around 80 million in 1981 before dropping to below 40 million in 1984. After a short increase to 69 million in 1986, there was a steady decline to a little over 30 million in the period of next 14 years. Whereas, the production of Natural gas at 40 million in 1981, which steadily increased to 100 million over the next 30 years.
