It can be clearly seen that men tended to buy more entertainment- based gadgets for the home compared to women. In contrast, women were more focused on safety devices and automated gadgets for their houses than men.
In term of security devices, nearly 90 percent of women bought camera whereas only a quarter of men spent money on them. Besides, a number of women investing in wireless home security were two-fold compared to men, respectively 60 percent and 30 percent. Moreover, females also had an interest in automated gadgets compared to males. For example, over 40 percent of females equipped their households with programmable vacuum and about 60 percent of them used programmable thermostat.
With regards to recreation, males were more concentrated on some entertaining appliances. The chart shows that twice as many men as women purchased a home movie theater. In addition, mans invested the most in wireless home audio system, about 80 percent. Furthermore, the number of people who bought energy management system in both genders was approximate a half.
