The bar graph illustrate the percentage of people who donated money to charity by five different age groups in 1990 and 2010.
Overall, the graph shows that the age group 36 to 50 had the highest donating rate in 1990. However, in 2010, the following age group, 51-65, had the highest proportion. In contrast, in 1990, after the donariong rate reached a peak, the rate declined over the next older age groups. The same trend can be seen in 2010.
Looking at the information for 1990 closely, the age group 18-25 had 17 per cent of donating rate. The figure increased dramatically over the next two age groups, 51-60, and 65+. Following the peak, with 42 per cent, the rate dropped gradually to 35 per cent, 32 per cent, respectively.
Similary, in 2010, the donating rate rose significantly starting from the age group 18-15 to all the way to the age aroup 51-60. Each age category, the figure increased 7 per cent to 24 per cent, to 35 per cent, and to approximately 40 per cent, which was the hightest among the all age groups. In addition, there was a notable fall for the oldest age group, 65+, from the previous age category.
