Overall, the British Museum and the Science Museum both witnessed an upward trend in the period from 2013 to 2015, while the Natural History Museum overcame a slight decrease before rising up again in 2015. Furthermore, the British Museum remarkably dominated the statistics for having the highest number of annual attendees throughout the period.
To begin with, there were around 6 and a half million people paying a visit to the British Museum in 2013, before that number increased slightly to just below 7 million visitors in one year later. Moreover in 2015, the number of individuals coming to the British Museum soared to over 7.5 million individuals, maintaining its position of the museum which welcomed the most people throughout the three-year period. Having the same rising trend as the British Museum, however, the Science Museum saw a slight rise in the annual attendees, from around 3.5 million to just below 4 million attendees, in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Finally, in 2015, the people visiting the Science Museum annually rose progressively to nearly 4.5 million people, making it the museum having the least visitors among three museums.
Moving on, the Natural History Museum welcomed approximately 5 million museum-goers in 2013. Nevertheless, that number declined slightly to just above 4.5 million people in the next year. Finally, the number of annual attendees to the Natural History Museum uplifted to over 5 million people in 2015, being the museum having the second-highest number of visitors among three museums.
