The given maps show the old layout of a public park opened in 1920 and how it looks today. Overall, the park has undergone significant transformations with more facilities.
In the past, there was a fountain in the middle of the park. There were entrances to the park; one from the south-end facing Eldon Street, another at the far-north from the Arnold Avenue. Several seats were placed next to each entrance and the other seats were positioned at the far-north west, south-west and east of the park. A glass house was constructed, adjacent to the south-end entrance. There were two rose gardens to the north west of the park, next to the north-end entrance. The other rose garden was located on the southern side, adjacent to the seats at the entrance. A pond for water plants was established to the northeast of the park. Interestingly, there was a stage for musicians, next to the fountain.
At present, it has considerably modified. The fountain is replaced by a rose garden, which is surrounded by seats. The rose garden constructed next to the north-end entrance is replaced by a café. Moreover, the pond is repositioned by a play area. A new underground car park is located to the southeast side of the park. The glass house has removed to build a water feature there. On the eastern side, a large amphitheatre was constructed for concerts. Notably, the rose garden at the north-east end is the only construction remains unchanged.
