The line graph illustrates the number of visitors (in thousands) to three museums in England between June and September 2013.
Overall, the British Museum consistently attracted the highest number of visitors, while the Science Museum had the lowest figures throughout the period. Although all three museums experienced fluctuations, visitor numbers generally declined in August before rising again in September.
In June, approximately 600 thousand people visited the British Museum, compared to around 550 thousand at the Natural History Museum and 400 thousand at the Science Museum. The British Museum then saw a sharp increase, reaching a peak of about 750 thousand visitors in July. However, this figure dropped significantly to 500 thousand in August before recovering to roughly 650 thousand in September.
By contrast, the Science Museum experienced a gradual decline from 400 thousand visitors in June to 300 thousand in August, followed by a notable rise to approximately 450 thousand in the final month. Similarly, the Natural History Museum recorded a decrease from around 550 thousand in June to just under 400 thousand in both July and August, before climbing to nearly 480 thousand in September.
