Dear sir/madam

I am writing this letter in order to inform you that i have unfortunately lost a very valuable item whilst on holiday.

The item in question is none other than my fiancee’s engagement ring. A simple platinum band tailored especially for her, the ring weighed about 3 to 4 grams. Luckily, the proposal went to plan, but the ring is no longer in our possession.

As i have just mentioned, the proposal went well, but the next morning my soon to be wife and i woke up in dismay as the ring was nowhere to be found. We searched and scoured the entirety of our hotel room, alas nothing was to be found. We would have missed our flight had we stayed any longer and had to accept the fact we would not find it.

Not to point fingers in anyone’s direction, but we did not have enough time to investigate any suspects or indeed anyone for that matter. We gathered our belongings and our luggage and headed for the airport in a sour mood, all whilst being a little relieved that we had opted for travel insurance when we did. I would appreciate it if you could set up a meeting at your earliest convenience if you have any more questions for us, otherwise please advise regarding the procedure or next steps towards claiming our insurance proceeds.
