The charts show the number of households that owned electrical appliances and how many times they needed to do housework between 1920 and 2019.
Overall, people with electrical appliances increased during that period, such as refrigerators having a significant increase than others. Meanwhile, the time spent on housework has decreased over the 5 years.
In 1920, the amount of people that have refrigerators reached 40% which is a bigger number than washing machine and vacuum cleaners. Then, the percentage of ownership refrigerators dramatically went up to the next year at 55% in 1940 and continued to rise until 1980 to 100%. The percentage of vacuum cleaner reached the peak period over the three last year at 100%. Whereas, washing machine ownership has decreased in 1980 to 60%, then slightly rose until the end of period in 2019 at 62%.
In other hand, the time that people spent to do housework got the highest point in the first year in 1920 at 50% and continued to decrease to 2019 at 10%
