This image represents the partecipation in sports or physical activity of the population by age in the january of 2001.
We can see clearly that a very high percentage (around 95%) of children, between 8 to 15, practices a sport. That is a good behaviour for their health, beacuse many scientific studies proof that the more sport a child do, the better he will feel and the better he will grows.
After the initial band of age, the trend shown by the graph indicates that as age increases, fewer people partecipate in sports or physical activities.
For example, the second group, which includes people from 16 to 24, with around 75% of them doing sports, demonstrates the fact that at this age you have less and less time to spend in the gym, in the pool, in running and so on. The possible cause is the major complexity of the school/university, in terms of dedication, and a bigger number of engagements, connected to this ambience.
In addition, concerning the other categories represented, the most important factor is the work, which is the main problem about the sport life of everyone. There are so many different situations that could take much time in a tipical day, so being able to find a space to go to the gym, or maybe to play some football with friends, is not easy.
