The chart compares the percentages of British people who are from England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland in choosing four different options of housing such as self-catering, caravan, camping, and hotel when they took a vacation in 2010.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that the most favourite type of accommodation was hotel while the least was camping. Interestingly, for this category, there was a slight different option among those British countries.
Looking at the data of staying at a hotel for going on a holiday, the highest was in England (about 50%, followed by Scotland having almost similar percentage) compared to those in Wales and Northern Ireland were under a half (around 49% and 45%, respectively in the given year). However, just over a tenth of English, Welsh, and Northern Irish preferred camping during holiday opposed to around 5% of Scottish.
Moving on to the others categories, in terms of independent stay, the most favourite was found in Scotland, at 30% following England and Wales, at around 38% while the least was in Northern Ireland (over one in ten). Nevertheless, more than 30% of Northern Irish chose Caravan on a holiday whereas three other countries had a slight percentage.
