The diagram illustrates the process of how aluminum cans are recycled. Overall, the process entails 11 steps, which can be grouped into 3 main stages: sending the collected cans to the factory, performing factory processes, and rolling the cans over a 6-week period.
During the first stage, aluminium cans are collected by staff and then they are loaded onto the lorries. Once loaded onto the lorries, the cans are transported to the factory, where they are sorted after several steps. The following stage is the reprocessing of the transported cans, which includes 6 steps.
When cans have been sent to the factory, they are then washed with fresh water. Next, they are crushed with technological machines. Then aluminum cans are heated in an oven, after which they are treated with chemicals.
Finally, the semi-ready material is molded and then it is sent for weighing and rolling. After being rolled, the ready aluminum cans are distributed to different stores to mold drinks into them.
