At the beginning of the period, Philippines had the highest cities population and Malaysia was just bellow it, while Indonesia had the lowest among the four countries. By time, number of citizens in Malaysia became much higher than the rest, conversely Thailand became the lowest. In Future, it is most probably for all conteries to continue rising steadily.

However, it showed a sharp growth after that, reaching around 70% in 2020, and it will mostly be 82% by 2040, which is far away from any other countries percentages.
Thailand and Indonesia started with low porportion of there population living in cities, which were 15% and 18% respectively. Indonesia’s rates had a steady increasing, reaching approximately 27% in 2000, when it exceeded the Thailand’s, and then rose even faster, as its cities population made up around 50% in 2020 and it is thought that an extra 10% of its population will move to cities by 2040.
