British students considerate when choosing a college or university.
Obviously, “suitable courses and degrees” were the most important dimension that the students considered in 1982 and 2002, though the rate of factor dropped from 40 percent to 34 percent. It’s evident that the figures between “Amenities, social activities and sport facilities” and “reputation of the institution” are striking similar: there were all obtaining considerably low rates in 1982, but the year 2002 saw a sharply growth to 18 percent and 25 percent in this two factors, which became the second and the third popular factors.
By comparing, the cost did record a dramatic decline from 28 to 5 in 2002. And the rate of “location” was similar to that of “admission criteria”, and there were a slightly decrease in the figure for approximately the level of falling around 2 to 3. Despite the decline, “admission criteria” was the least popular factor of influence.
Overall, “suitable courses and degrees” was remain the factor students would pay highly attention to. And students were more likely to consider about the activities, facilities and reputation the college having. On the other hand, location, costs and admission criteria had lower influence to the students.
