This report summarises the development that happened in a small town, located near Melbourne, named Tarnagul over half a century from 1900 to 1950.
Overall, the town had been made more accessible for people with improvements in transportation facilities. Along with it, the town area also expanded significantly over the 50 years.
A railway station and a railway line was built on the east of the town to ease the travel of the people to and from the town. Additionally, two packing sheds were made on either side of the railway track, to the north-east of the town. Also, the mandarin farm on the south was converted to orange farm, while the farms on the north remained as they were.
Furthermore, the dairy present on the west in 1900, was converted into lemon and grapefruit fields, while being extended to the north. Moreover, the town area in the center grew to almost double of its initial size. However, the river running from north to south and the road from west to east remain unchanged over the period.
