Overall, we can see that in 2006, there was an increase in the number of films released compared to 1996, except for romantic films. Additionally, the total ticket sales for drama movies were approximately similar.
Upon closer examination, it is evident that in 2006, almost 35% of the films released were dramas, compared to close to 25% in 1996. Furthermore, during the same period, it was observed that for every 100 films made, more than 10 were fantasy and 20 were comedies. However, in 2006, these numbers increased to 25 and 15, respectively. Notably, only 6 were romance movies. From a business perspective, 15% of the total tickets purchased were for drama movies in both 1996 and 2006. However, the combined percentage of comedy, fantasy, and romance films was 27% in 1996 and increased to 34% in 2006.
