The given bar charts give information regarding the proportion of male and female students in secondary and higher education across 4 particular region namely Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America ,and East Asia in 2000.
In general, the overall levels of boys and girls who attends education in Europe were the highest among four areas. Another key point is that the percentage of secondary education attendance were always higher than that of higher classes.
Regarding secondary education, the figures for boys and girls were relatively equal which were nearly 100 %, whereas in Sub-Saharan Africa, 30 % of males attended secondary schools which was more than females with 20 %. However, the proportion of girls studying in secondary education indicated 60 % which was approximately 11 % higher than that of males at roughly 49 % in Latin America. Moreover, about 58 % and 60 % were recorded in the percentage of East Asian boys and girls, respectively.
For the higher education, European continued to lead at the top with 60 % of males, and 70 % of females attending. The opposite was true for Sub-Sahara Africa with the lowest portions at nearly 6% men and 4% women. There was a fifth of males and about one eighth of females in Latin America partaking in colleges and universities, followed by the figures for East Asia, with the former was 10% and the latter was under 10%.
