The table illustrates information about how much land was covered by forest from 1990 to 2005, with estimated numbers for 2015 in four countries.
The four countries are Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, and Chile. In 1990, 62.4 percent of the land in Brazil was covered by forest, while the other three countries had just above 20 percent in that year. Between 1990 and 2005, the percentage of forest-covered land in New Zealand and Chile rose, with more than 21 percent. However, in Australia and Brazil, it decreased: 0.6 percent and Brazil decreased five percent. People have estimated that in 2015, Chile’s land forest and New Zealand’s land forest would increase. Despite that, Brazil still decreased and stopped at 53.5 percent. The percentage of land covered by forest in Australia was 20 percent.
Overall, if there is two countries, there’ll be one kept increasing the size of land forest, and one will be decreasing its own land forest amount. The trend is to increase the percentage of land covered by forest from 1990 to 2005 and estimated for 2015.
