This bar chart shows information about age of population of Yemen and Italy in 2000 and predictions for year 2050. Overall, proportion of children (0-14) in both countries is estimated to go down, meanwhile percentage of elderly people projected to increase.
In year 2000 more than half of the population of Yemen consisted of children at the same time, in Yemen there was higher proportion of adults (15-59) compared to old people (60+) 46,3 % and 3,6 % respectively. But according to the forecasts percentage of adults will increase by 11 % (57,3 %) and its 10 times more than elderly people (5,7 %). In addition to that portion of children will experience a significant drop from 50,1% to 37%.
In Italy in year 2000 large portion of population consisted of middle-age people at 61,6% and elderly people took higher proportion of residents than children almost 10% more at 24,1% and 14,3% respectively. Based on projection for year 2050, children group will have slight decrease. However, percentage of elderly people will see dramatic rise – from 24,1 to 42,3. In contrast to old people adults will show huge decrease in their percentages (46,2%).
