Overall, the workers rate was higher in all these occupations except computer programmer. There were some fluctuations in all categories, with the notable growth recorded for accountants in 2010.

In 2009, around 20,000 accountants migrated to Australia, a number that reached a peak approximately 28,000 in 2010 before falling to just above 20,000 in 2012. By contrast, the number of cooks was lower, starting at about 17,000 in 2009. The following pattern dropped to 15,000 in 2010, before recovering slightly in 2011. In the final year, it witnessed decrease to 16,000.

Software engineers began the period at 19,000, saw consistently rise to 21,000 in 2011. In 2012, figure for software engineers diminished markedly. Computer programmers recorded the smallest numbers across the year, following pattern started at 2,000 in 2009 and reached a peak by 2012, with minor variation in between.
