The graph demonstrates the reported usage rate of five differents means of transport (car, bus, bicycle, train and walking) in a city’s locals in 2019 and 2013.
Overall, each vehicles tended to stabilize its own popularity throughout the years. Although, generally, cars remained as the most frequently used transportation, whereas walking had the lowest percentage of users out of the five.
To begin with, in 2019, usage in cars topped out at 40% of citizens, the highest amount compared to others. At second place, buses was fairly common with about a quarter of the city riding them to travel. In contrast, trains was significantly less recognized at the time with just slightly more than one-tenth of usage rate in total citizens, while walking and bicycles only had 10% of people using them.
On the other hand, percentage of car users dipped slightly in 2023. Meanwhile, usage in buses and bikes experienced a modest rise of about 5% each. Moreover, trains tended to became even less in favor of locals, for which’s usage rate dropped in 5%. Lastly, traveling on foot remained its popularity throughout the 4 years period.
