Overall, there was upward trend the proportion of aging 65 and above in Germany experienced a noticeable rise while Canada showed the least percentages. Notably, Canada is projected to surpass the UKin the final year.
In 1980, there was a different trajectory in the percentage of elderly people in three countries. Germany stood at the largest percentage at 15%, this followed approximately at 13% in the UK and 10% in Canada. By 2000, Germany showed the bigger percentage of people who were above 65 at just 20% while Canada and the UK emerged similarly numbers at 15%.
For the foreseeable future in 2030, Germany is projected to reach its peak and have longer longevity than other countries. While Canada’s population will experience a steady growth, that for the UK will likely decline.
